Earlier this month, I had a great opportunity to speak with the Salt Lake ColdFusion User Group about the current job-market in Utah. I appreciated the group and felt that I learned at least as much as I shared.
They are a great group of developers, passionate about ColdFusion application development, new technologies, learning new skills and development methodologies, and sharing what they’ve learned with others.
I also fielded some excellent questions, along with some interestingly pointed feedback about how developers feel about recruiters (which, in part, prompted this post).
Overall, I will venture to say to the community, that there is a vibrant and growing group of ColdFusion developers in our valley, and they are really doing very cool, very solid development.
Thanks for letting me share!

And we were pleased to have you! It was very well recieved. If anyonebody is looking for a passionate group of web technology creators, regardless of whether or not you know ColdFusion (it’s been one word since about 2000 ;), give us a try.
Again, thank you.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have been to a couple of meetings and I have found very experienced developers willing to help. My hat’s off to the ColdFusion developers here in Utah.
